According to FOX 5 Atlanta, Ismael Casillas was in his Coweta County home when he discovered 20-year-old Keywontrezes Humphries in his daughter’s room last week. Investigators reported that Casillas started to choke and severely beat the young man until his teeth fell out. After Humphries jumped out of the window, Casillas told his wife to hand him his gun and met the young man in the front yard. Additionally, they stated that he wouldn’t have been arrested if he didn’t grab his gun and started shooting at Humphries.
Humphries was also arrested and charged with child molestation. Officials stated he reportedly had a relationship with the 14-year-old girl and wanted to visit her. Officers say they sympathize with Casillas’ situation but had no choice to arrest him because Georgia law draws a line at attacking home intruders once they are no longer viewed as a threat.
