Usher is doing his part to make sure people in one metro Atlanta county don’t go hungry during the pandemic.

Channel 2′s Tom Jones talked to Usher, who is helping kids in Clayton County through his New Look foundation. The foundation has set up an emergency fund to provide youth with virtual classes, emergency financial assistance and mental health and wellness support.

Usher said he wanted to keep helping people during the coronavirus pandemic. He and volunteers from the foundation dropped off boxes of food at a Clayton County Schools warehouse Thursday. The boxes will feed around 350 people in the community.

“We really wanted to offer them just some comfort, some food, and also let them know that they are not forgotten,” Usher said.

The meals are plant-based and will be distributed throughout the county.

Usher urged people to get out and support small businesses because they are the lifeline of every community. He said that in times like these, it’s important for everyone to give back.
