Investigators have recovered all bodies and key pieces of evidence from the scene of the helicopter crash that killed Kobe Bryant and eight others Sunday in the Los Angeles area.
Although all nine victims have been publicly named by relatives and friends, the coroner’s office officially identified four of them, including the 41-year-old Bryant. The coroner also formally identified John Altobelli, 56; Sarah Chester, 45; and the helicopter pilot, Ara Zobayan, 50. All the pieces of the helicopter wreckage needed for the investigation have been removed and are being transported to a secure location, in addition to evidence that includes an iPad, cellphone, maintenance records, and other documentation. Sunday’s crash also killed two coaches at schools in Orange County, the wife, and daughter of one of those coaches, the pilot, and a mother and her daughter.
