According to XXL, Kodak, who has been behind bars in Miami’s Federal Detention Center since May when he was arrested just ahead of his 2019 Rolling Loud Miami Festival performance, will be sentenced on Wednesday (Nov. 13). The South Florida rapper was arrested on federal firearms charges and decided to forgo a trial and pleaded guilty instead. Kodak initially pled not guilty to the charges, but later changed his plea on Aug. 22.
Kodak could be facing between four and 20 years in prison. Black was able to cop three weapons—a 9 mm handgun, a .380-caliber handgun, and a semi-automatic Mini Draco weapon but one was found at the scene of a March shooting in Pompano Beach. Each of the two counts he has been charged with carrying a statutory minimum of 10 years. Thus, the rapper could be looking at up to 20 years in federal prison, according to The Associated Press. But, part of his deal includes prosecutors recommending he get the lower end of the spectrum.
