HOV WILL ALSO CO-PRODUCE SUPER BOWL HALFTIME SHOW
Word on the streetz is the NFL is forming “an entertainment and social justice partnership” with Jay-Z and Roc Nation.
Reportedly, the NFL will use Jay-Z’s Roc Nation to consult on its entertainment presentations. In addition to consultation on presentations, HOV will co-produce the Super Bowl halftime show in an attempt to “strengthen community through music and the NFL’s Inspire Change initiative.”
Jay-Z issued a statement on the partnership via Roc Nation’s Twitter account saying, The NFL has a great big platform, and it has to be all-inclusive. They were willing to do some things, to make some changes, that we can do some good.”
Jay-Z has been a strong supporter of Kaepernick, who has not played in the NFL the past two seasons and is not with a team now. He has turned down invitations to perform at the Super Bowl, as has Rihanna. “Apes–t” communicated a message to the NFL regarding his decisions. “I said no to the Super Bowl: You need me, I don’t need you. Every night we in the end zone, tell the NFL we in stadiums too.”
