A woman in Alpharetta, Georgia was conned out of $80,000. The woman and her lover con-artist (John Martin Hill) met on an online dating site. They did not start dating until March 27th. After dating online for only a week, the couple met in person and got engaged right after. After lying about his job and telling his new fiance that he was a millionaire, she gave him more than $80,000 to put towards their new home together. Right after receiving the money, he was nowhere to be found. According to sources, Hill is also wanted in other states such as Virginia, Delaware, Maryland, and New Jersey for similar actions. Not to mention, he has changed his name at least 5 times in the past two years. Gwinnett County has issued a warrant for John Martin Hill’s arrest. He is being charged with theft by deception which is considered a felony.
