{MIDDAYS WITH JAZZY MCBEE} Judge Denies City Girl’s Request for Early Release

0

#FREEJT ANOTHER MINOR SETBACK FOR THE CITY GIRL’S, BUT ITS NOT OVER YET.

JT’s legal team filed a motion on Tuesday to get the City Girl moved to a halfway house, where she can make music with her group member Yung Miami. Despite having a solid argument, the court didn’t feel like the decision was in their authority so the request has been deferred to the Bureau of Prisons to decide.

The report states the rapper has earned 108 days good conduct time credit, and by July will have completed “15.6 months (12 months plus 3.6 months earned good time credit), thereby leaving 8.4 months of her sentence to be served.”

In the request, her attorney also wrote:

“It is without hesitation that I can proffer that you will never hear from this Defendant regarding any type of crime, much less an economic one. Granting this recommendation will allow the Defendant to get back to the studio where she belongs, ”

“[She] is one of two girls that make up the rap duo City Girls,” the documents add. “Beginning around her change of plea City Girls became a force in the music industry. They have grown an intense fan base and have developed relationships with the elite of the elite.”

JT was sentenced to 24 months in prison being found guilty of using three people’s credit cards between September 2016 through April 2017. She allegedly spent over $1,000.

Despite this setback, the decision is still up in the air. There is still hope for the City Girl’s early released.
