We really want Allen Iverson.
The Los Angeles Lakers officially fired head coach Luke Walton on Friday afternoon, which quickly led to a report from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski regarding the top candidate to take Luke’s place.
According to sources, former Lakers point guard and ex-Cavs head coach Tyronn Lye is looked at as a “strong frontrunner” to take over the position.
Walton’s Lakers went 37-45 this season and rumors of a coaching change persisted throughout the disappointing year. In fact, it was reported that Walton and his staff had “fully expected to be fired” after the final regular season game on Tuesday.
Back in March, it was noted that LeBron’s former coach is “an obvious candidate” to replace Walton.
The Los Angeles Lakers and Luke Walton have mutually agreed to part ways.
"We would like to thank Luke for his dedicated service over the last three years," said General Manager Rob Pelinka. "We wish Luke and his family the best of luck moving forward."https://t.co/3cgU3WPgnJ
