Dennis Graham comments on two of the most prominent scandals today.
In the past, Drake’s father Dannis Graham has made some unusual comments about things that happen in the entertainment world. He’s been accused of sliding into Tiffany Haddish’s DMs, made controversial remarks about the #MeToo movement, and more. Now, he’s back in the headlines after an interview that he did with Variety to promote his new single.
Music has become a hobby for Dennis Graham, who can comfortably live off of his son’s earnings. His new single “That On That” was the subject of many of his comments during his sit-down with Variety but he also spoke on a few of the most controversial happenings in the world today. When the topic of R. Kelly’s alleged sex abuse crimes came up, Drake’s dad was quick to defend the singer. “He’s a good friend of mine,” said Graham. “I wish him the best. I hate that it’s happening to him. There’s a reason why women come out after the fact. He has my support 100%.”
These comments echo the same sentiment he shared when he was asked about #MeToo in the summer. He was also asked about Jussie Smollett, the Empire actor who has been accused of staging a hate crime against himself. “Jussie has been misunderstood,” he said. “As a matter of fact, they know that. That story that came out about Jussie in Chicago is not true about Jussie. Jussie is a friend of mine, also. They have totally reconstructed his story.”
