On Saturday night, Jussie Smollett took the stage at The Troubadour in Los Angeles for a performance that was scheduled prior to the attack. Before his performance, the actor and singer told his fans he wanted to clear up a specific details he said were false about the attack.
Before going on to discuss his injuries, Smollet said, “There’s a lot of stuff that’s been said about me that is absolutely not true.” “I was bruised but my ribs were not cracked. They were not broken.” He also added, “I went to the doctor immediately; Frank Gatson drove me, I was not hospitalized.” “Both my doctors in L.A. and Chicago cleared me to perform, but said to take care, obviously.”
He went on to say that he fought back against his attackers.
On Monday, Chicago Police Department spokesperson, Anthony Guglielmi, tweeted the photos of the people of interest in the assault and battery of Smollett. His tweet also stated that detectives were still reviewing security footage.
