FOOTBALL PLAYER LAID TO REST
The funeral arrangements for the Pike County High School football player who died after an injury Friday night will be Thursday at 4 p.m. at the Oak Hill Baptist Church located at 100 Lakeside Drive in Williamson. Dr. David Couch and Pastor Stephen Dervan will be officiating.
Dylan Thomas, was an eleventh-grade football player who passed away Sunday evening after he was injured during a varsity football game on Friday. The injury happened during the third quarter. The Pike County Schools superintendent says the referee stopped play, an athletic trainer was called to the field, then Dylan was brought to the sideline, and he was communicating.
Medics rushed Dylan to Grady Memorial Hospital where he had emergency surgery but died Sunday.
The family would like for all football players (no matter which school) to wear their jerseys to the service.
