RUSSIA HAS BEEN BANNED FROM THE 2018 WINTER OLYMPICS FOR DOPPIN! Russia has been caught yet again attempting to cheat the system, this time by using drugs to enhance their performance at the 2018 Winter Olympics.
Russia has been banned from competing in the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang in an historic decision by the International Olympic Committee.
That was the punishment issued today, (Dec. 5th) 3 years after allegations first surfaced of state-sponsored dopin. Country’s government officials are forbidden to attend and its flag will not be displayed at the opening ceremony – although some Russian athletes will be allowed to compete under a neutral flag and neutral uniform. In addition to the ban, Russia has been Olympic Committee has been fined $15 million.
