AND STREETZ HAS ALL THE DETAILS!
Vh1 Honors aired last night, and many people are talking about the speech Pharrell Williams gave at the event.
There has definitely been a lot going on in America, especially when it comes to police brutality. Everything from Colin Kaepernick kneeing for the national anthem, to protest in Charlottesville and more.
The night was a recap of the 90’s era of music, and how it was a huge influence in our current day culture, but Pharrell and his speech was a reminder to everyone that we can not forget what is currently going on.
“So for everybody at home watching this and acting like y’all don’t see what’s going on out there, you gotta open your eyes, You keep saying you don’t see what’s going, on television, what’s happening to us, open your eyes… And if you look like how I look, then you know how we got here. But we’re here and we’re not leaving.”
Then Pharrell then made it clear that sometimes it’s more then just skin color, it can steam from facial features to hair color and more.
This weekend, Sunday September 24, Williams along with Timbaland, Justin Timberlake, Ariana Grande plan to perform for the Charlottesville benefit concert, A Concert for Charlottesville, where donations will help benefit victims of the violent protests that occurred back in August.
