Kendrick Lamar is expected to do big numbers with his recent release of his fourth studio album, DAMN.
According to Billboard,, the project is projected to push 475,000 equivalent album units as it tops the Billboard 200 chart. These numbers would be the second-highest selling week for an album so far this year, coming second only to Drake’s More Life, which pushed just over 500,000 in its first week. Drizzy spent three weeks at the top position before being knocked off by the Chainsmokers.
This will be KDot’s third #1 album. Last year’s Untitled, Unmastered and the Grammy-winning To Pimp a Butterfly were his previous #1 albums. His major label debut, 2012’s good kid m.A.A.d. city, peaked at #2.
DAMN. also produced Kendrick’s highest charted song to date with “HUMBLE.” reaching the #2 position upon its debut.
