THE LATE MC MIGHT BE RELEASING AN ALBUM A YEAR AFTER HIS DEATH
The late Phife Dawg will be releasing a solo project a year after his death called, Forever. This coming March, it will mark the one-year anniversary and on Valentine’s Day, Phife Dawg released a new single called, “Wanna Dance” with a feature from Neo-Soul singer Dwele. The track is produced by Mike City, who had worked on Brandy’s “Full Moon” and Carl Thomas’ “I Wish,” and just like those tracks, you get a smooth feeling with Phife’s track as well.
The song, “Wanna Dance” will be featured on both Phife and Dwele’s upcoming albums. This will also be Dwele first album in five years and it will be titled, “Same Book…New Chapter.”
Desha Heard Taylor, Phife Dawg’s wife, announce that the album will drop early 2017, while a press conference for the christening ceremony for Malik “Phife Dawg” Taylor Way in Queens, New York. “His solo album will be out probably sometime during the first quarter of 2017,” she said. “We’re working on it now. He completed his entire solo album before he transitioned, so we’re excited about releasing that.”
