METHOD MAN & REDMAN ARE PLANING TO SMOKE UP THE BIG SCREEN AGAIN BUT WITH A TWIST!
Method Man and Redman’s 2001 stoner flick, “How High,” will officially be getting a sequel, to be titled, “Too High.” Matt “M-80” Markoff exclusively revealed to HipHopDX that it is happening. Markoff has the full script and is currently looking for help in financing the project. “Hopefully the world will get to see a so-called How High 2 as evident by this script here,” M-80 says as he holds up an autographed copy of the coveted screenplay.
There were rumors about the hold up for How High sequel because Redman supposedly stop smoking marijuana. Markoff cleared the air and claims that wasn’t the case. He even went on to recall how Redman has separate bags to collect weed at all his shows. “Red walks into the meeting with a vest on, one of those zip-up sweater vests and as he’s shaking hands, he stands up and a bag of weed this big falls out of the vest and I’m looking in the bag that I picked up off the ground and it’s like 50 different colors and I’m like, ‘What is this bag?’ and he’s like, ‘This is the bag for when people just give me weed and I just put it all in this bag,’” Matt recalls. “So yeah, that would never happen that he would stop smoking.”
Back in 2014 Redman spoke with MTV and revealed then that the storyboard was done and had hopes to develop it under Universal Pictures. Universal didn’t hop on board so they will be producing it themselves. Since Universal own the rights to the characters Silas and Jamal as well as the name How High, some thing had to change including the character’s names and the title of the movie.
Hopeful they can get the funds and get the movie started
