YOU WON’T BELIEVE WHAT THE WOMAN DID NEXT
ATLANTA – A woman tried to chase down a man after police say he stole her Rolex right off of her wrist outside of Lenox Square.
The crime was caught on camera.
Now, police need the public’s help in trying to identify the thief and his two accomplices.
Oshanna Broxton had no fear when she jumped out of her car and darted after a thief seconds after he snatched a Rolex off of her wrist outside of the mall.
“It started sliding down my hand because I pulled my arm back so hard it started cutting me,” Oshanna Broxton said. “He pulled it off of me and it popped.”
Channel 2’s Nefertiti Jaquez spoke to the 28-year-old victim over the phone.
“This would be the last place I thought that would happen,” Broxton said.
“A person who will still commit a crime with that many witnesses is a brazen individual. He’s a criminal,” Sgt. Warren Pickard said.
“A brazen criminal,” who Pickard says committed the crime in a packed parking lot with the help of two other men.
Atlanta police believe the trio trailed Broxton to her car as she left the mall.
One man flagged her down as the other two played lookout while sitting in a black Range Rover.
Seconds later, the thief swiped the watch and made a run for it.
“They probably just figure she’s a girl, it will probably be easy,” Broxton said.
But they were wrong. She gave chase and managed to snap a photo of the truck’s license plate.
Broxton says it wasn’t until after the incident that she thought about her decision.
“Like what if he got to his car and came back with a gun,” Broxton said. “Anything could have happened.”
