Devon Terrell, a new face in the film industry, will play a young Barack Obama in the Netflix film “Barry.” The film follows Obama during his junior year of college in 1981 at Columbia University. This is the year that the future president developed his views on America, race, and government.
A film about Obama and Michelle’s first date was released at the Sundance Film festival and received positive feedback from critics. “Barry” is the second film made about Obama’s early years. The film is directed by Vikram Gandhi and written by Adam Mansbach. “Barry” was first released at the Toronto International Film Festival and it will be available on Netflix on December 16.
This will be Devon Terrell’s first acting performance and the film’s cast includes stars like Jenna Elfman from “Friends With Benefits”, and Jason Mitchell from “Straight Outta Compton.” What do you guys think? Will the film be a success or a flop?
