IT LOOKS LIKE GABRIELLE AND BET HAVE SOME BEEF. CLICK HERE FOR DETAILS
Gabrielle Union has been the star of the BET show “Being Mary Jane” for a few years now. Earlier this week, news leaked that Gabrielle Union was suing BET for manipulating her contract. Apparently, Union was upset with the fact that BET was cramming 2 seasons worth of taping all into 1. This cram lead to her fifth season raise of “Being Mary Jane” to be eliminated. Union’s contract stated that each season would only shoot 13 episodes and that she’d receive $150,000 per episode in the fourth season and $165,000 in the fifth season. Claiming that BET broke that contract, Union is seeking $1 million in damages.
When asked about the lawsuit, BET responds quickly and efficiently, “While we hold Gabrielle Union in the highest esteem, we feel strongly that we are contractually well within our rights and are committed to reaching a swift and positive resolution in this matter.” It looks like this problem will soon be solved, hopefully!
